What’s the difference: Mini Facelift VS Midface Lift VS Traditional Facelift

What’s the difference: Mini Facelift VS Midface Lift VS Traditional Facelift
There are a wide variety of facelift techniques. And the technique that I use, really depends on, again, what my clients goals are.

A mini-facelift is a broad term that encompasses a variety of facelift techniques. One of the surgeries that’s called a mini-facelift online, is a small incision that’s placed underneath the chin to remove fat, as well as tighten the muscle underneath this part of the face. Another quote unquote mini-facelift is where the scar just extends from this point in the ear and behind the ear, so that the neck can be tightened in this fashion.

A mid-facelift traditionally, is done through an incision at the eyelid or along the lip-cheek junction to lift the tissue in the center part of the face. A full-face and neck lift, again is a broad term that encompasses a variety of techniques. But generally, the incision will come in front of the ear and then behind along the curvature of the ear, going behind the hairline. The patient may or may not have an incision underneath their chin. And then the surgical work that’s done underneath can vary. In some surgeries, the tissues just sewn up, in other surgeries a deep plane is raised to lift the tissue in a natural way.

In a third type of full-face lift technique, tissue is resected and then lifted underneath the skin, to again give a very natural look. As a cranial facial surgeon, I’m trained in all of these techniques.

So, I don’t only do one face-lift technique, I select the technique that’s best for my patient. And I think that gives longer and more natural looking results.
