How long will it be before Facelift scars diminish?
Facelift scars will generally heal well, but scarring is largely a factor of the patient’s genetics. I do counsel patients, that the scars from a facelift, especially in front of the ear are usually imperceptible, even without makeup. Behind the ear, they will also usually heal very well. Sometimes the scar heals in a thick or widened fashion, I’ll do a touch up in my office, and the scar itself again will be generally pretty imperceptible. I cannot remember the last time I’ve had a patient complain about a facelift scar, because they’re hidden in the creases and shadows of the face and in most patients, they’re very imperceptible.
